CoolPeel is a new treatment that has virtually eliminated discomfort associated with fractional CO2 laser treatments and reduced the downtime to as little as one day. The CoolPeel laser treatment uses the Smartxide Tetra laser, the latest and most advanced CO2 laser from leading laser company, DEKA.

The SmartXide Tetra is designed to deliver high peak power in extremely short pulses at low energy settings. The super-short pulse creates controlled injury to the epidermis and superficial dermis with less heat build-up in the skin, offering an optimal level of ablation with minimal thermal damage to surrounding tissue. This allows for faster recovery and downtime than with most ablative lasers.

What makes CoolPeel® different?

CO2 laser the gold standard in treating wrinkles, age spots, acne scars and other blemishes as well as tighten skin and balance tone. Depending on the depth of the treatment, CO2 treatments can be accompanied by considerable downtime while damage skin heals.

Many advances have been made to improve the side effects of CO2 treatments, but only the coolpeel can deliver a fully ablative treatment without the downtime. There is minimal risk of hyperpigmentation, demarcation or induced infection.

How long does a CoolPeel® Take?

A full-face CoolPeel® Laser peel can take anywhere from 10-20 minutes.

Who is a candidate for CoolPeel®?

You are a good candidate for a CoolPeel® laser treatment if you are looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and sun damage, minimize pores and improve skin texture, skin will look healthier and younger.

When can I return to my skincare routine?

After your cool peel treatment, it is important to keep your skin hydrated and there may be certain products you should avoid. When you come in for your Coolpeel, we will discuss with you what products you use regularly and what products you should temporarily stop using until the healing process is complete.

How does the CoolPeel® work?

Damaged skin tissue is removed, or ablated, stimulating new collagen production and heat energy is delivered to tighten the skin. A CoolPeel® laser treatment can only be done using the tetra CO2 laser. Only the Tetra has the precision control to deliver energy at the right depth and speed for superficial skin resurfacing results without the lingering heat that would traditionally damage the surrounding skin. This lack of unnecessary heat is where it gets its name and why you get an immediate aesthetic effect with minimal downtime.

Is anesthesia or numbing required?

While it is not required, we use a custom, highly effective prescription topical numbing cream for the patients’ comfort.

What will my recovery time be?

One of the main benefits of a CoolPeel® is that there is minimal downtime. You should expect to be a little red, as if you had a sunburn, for a day or two but nothing should prevent you from returning to normal daily activities. Your skin may feel dry and scaly as it heals so it is important to keep the skin hydrated.
