FAQ
How can vaginal rejuvenation help me?
This procedure can improve issues such as vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, orgasms, and urinary incontinence.
Does the procedure hurt?
Most patients report only minimal discomfort and a pressure sensation. We use numbing cream and a local anesthetic.
What can I take if I have any pain after the procedure?
Please do not use aspirin or any NSAID pain relievers (Advil, Motrin, or Aleve) for 1 week after the procedure. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is okay as directed on the package. You can also apply ice to the area as needed.
Will I need to repeat the procedure?
Most patients will not need to for 18-24 months. However, some patients do need a second procedure sooner to achieve desired results.
How long does the procedure take?
You will need to plan on being in the office for about 1 hour. Most of the time involves numbing, drawing blood, and setting the
procedure up. The actual procedure only takes a few minutes though.
Is there any downtime?
No. You can leave the office and continue on with your plans for the day. You may return to work the same day if needed. There is no downtime for intercourse if you do not experience any pain.
When will I see results?
Some patients will see immediate improvement in sensation, but it will take several weeks to achieve maximum results. Urinary incontinence usually improves quickly. Other patients may not notice any effect at all in the first few weeks or even months. Most patients see maximum results in 3-6 months.
What if I need or want another procedure sooner?
There is no contraindication to having additional procedures. Some patients may actually need a repeat to achieve desired results.
